My Approach

Laura Miller consulting with early-stage founders on customer success strategy

I've been the person frantically keeping hundreds of customers happy on high growth teams. Startups can be frenzied, exciting, chaotic, and exhausting all at once. In these environments, I’ve learned how important it is to build systems that we can lean on as growth takes off.

For years, I’ve held multiple operating roles at growing startups. Most recently, as VP of Customer Success at a venture-backed AI startup, I built the CS operations that achieved 150% Net Revenue Retention.

Before that: venture accelerator, multiple startups… always building systems from chaos. Here's what I learned and built into my approach working with teams now:

SYSTEMS BEFORE TOOLS

The mistake isn't choosing Salesforce or Hubspot or Notion, it's choosing before you know what you're building. I help you design clear operations first, then pick tools that actually support them. Whether that's Notion for the next 12 months or Salesforce from day one, we make it an intentional choice that fits financially.

FRACTIONAL FIRST, FULL-TIME LATER

Most Seed to Series A founders don’t need a $200K+ VP hire yet. I provide strategic leadership now, to build up operational infrastructure that can scale. When you're ready to hire full-time (usually 6-12 months later), you'll know exactly what role you need.

BUILD FOR HANDOFF

Your operations shouldn't depend on me. I build systems your team can run independently, document everything centrally, and train your team properly before I leave. No consultant dependency. No 60-page decks. Just working operations.

THE RESULT

You get operations that scale from $1M to $10M+ without breaking. Built in weeks, not months. Designed to work without me.
